Sassafras & Tattered Angels!!

I love this line from Sassafras & I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new glimmer screens from Tattered Angels! Glimmer Mist is one of my favs right now, I am using it on every project!!! Using glimmer mist with glimmer screens is REALLY easy and makes really beautiful designs!

Here is what I have been doing:

Maya Road Mini Album "US"
I made this album about my brother and I when we were toddlers :)

One if the pages inside the album

"love you..."
picture of my mom, my brother and me.
I love this bird glimmer screen by Tattered Angels sooooo much,
I kept the page
simple so that the bird would be a feature on the page.

"Read"
Also featuring the Sassafras Woodland Whimsy paper line.
This is a picture of my mom reading a book to me when I was little.
This paper line reminds me of my childhood, so I have been scrapping
a lot of my baby pictures with it.
I used the Glimmer Screens and the Mist to make the scroll
designs on the paper.

Thanks for looking- stop by the store to get all the items I shared with you!
Happy Weekend :)

Today I'm glad to be showing you some great projects with some great papers we have in the store.
First this video tutorial was made with the great Pink Paislee Line Fetching, I've used:

This layout shows that sometimes the paper that you use can give the illusion that you are using many papers and embellishments, this is the case of this paper from Sassafras
Woodland Whimsy-Paper Garden gives the ilusion that has two papers and some flowers on both corners what helps to give a balance here. What I really liked is the middle paper with scalloped and looking almost like a fabric. Then include some journaling and you're done.
By the way this paper is 50% OFF at the store a great deal.

On this one I used Hambly Chic Circles Overlay, what I like about Hambly overlays is that they are so thick, great to use. Pink Paislee Fashion Script Alpha, Bazzill Kraft Cardstock

Thanks for stopping by today !

Embossing by Michelle

I'm so excited that CHA Summer releases are fast approaching. I can't wait for Heather to share everything that she sees at the show too!

Well, since the rest of us that can't make it, I figured I'd share some stuff that I scrapped using the Pink Paislee Fetching line. It's just perfect for a guy! I've had this photo of Dan sitting on my desk, waiting for the right paper to be scrapped. I think its a perfect match!
I decided not to have a title for this page for the time being. Dan likes it better this way and its less chessy than what I had plans for. I'm totally digging the Jenni Bowlin journaling card with the Tim Holtz grungeboard bookplate. I stamped a woodgrain pattern and then embossed on it with some brown Zing embossing powder by American Crafts. I have always loved stamping and think I have a new love towards the art of embossing! The woodgrain paper and film strips are by Hambly Studios. And I can't forget about the key, that's also by Tim Holtz.
And here are two birthday cards I made with the American Crafts Backyard line and Craft Fair line:I made this card right in front of him and he had no idea what was going on. He was so sweet-said he always keeps all of his cards. I had fun making this. The happy birthday stamp was embossed with Zing embossing powder.
I made this with my cousin Dominique in mind. The owls are too cute, I had to incorporate them into the card title work. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check back tomorrow for lots more great work by the DT.

CHA Bound

I am frantically running around doing all the things I've been saying I would do for months now. The truck has no room for luggage right now but it must by tomorrow noon! Denise, Suz and I will be South bound for Orlando Fl.
We have our list and
we are checking it twice
to be sure we get
all things sassy & nice.

Lol I thought of that on the fly : ). Ok so anyway, all the orders have been packed and shipped that came in recently. Don't forget that any order place from now till Aug 2 won't ship till after the 2nd.

* The wonderful DT will be presenting you with their projects every other day or so while I'm away so be sure to come by and check it out.

* Ms Suz is planning on attending the consumer side of CHA so I'm hoping she will take a camera on the inside for us and maybe she'll blog about all those goodies as well!

* Once I get back there will be a blog about what I purchased with pics and examples. So even more goodies to look forward to.

Hope everyone has a GREAT week!

Trying Something Different....

If you scrapbook a lot then sometimes you can feel like you are in a bit of a rut...

Most times I can snap out of it pretty quick by: using some great new products I love, printing some new or old photos with a story I've got the perfect idea how to tell, or trying a new technique or doing something a little different... you know "Shake Things Up" to get those creative juices flowing again.

So this month I'm trying a different format than I'm used to... I love doing the standard 12x12 size pages because of the squareness (is that a word lol). But lately I find myself doing more of the 8-1/2x11 size because they are easier to scan & get on the web. So the 8x8 size I thought would give me the best of both worlds & it really did.

Here's a layout I did using a lot of My Mind's Eye paper & some old photos of our dog when I was a child. I wanted to tell the story of how we used to have parties with presents for our dogs. (Yes we are "those people" lol). I love Thickers & these pink fabric ones sure have been tickling my fancy on layouts lately. Even on the most basic layouts a bit of stitching adds a lot of interest, texture & that something that makes a page a bit more special.

Supplies:
Cardstock (Bazzill - White Orange Peal)
Paper (My Mind's Eye -No Worries Content Circles, My Mind's Eye -Pirouette Twirling Circles & My Mind's Eye -Free Flowing Stripes Die Cut Paper)
Letters (American Crafts Thickers -By the Yard Bubblegum)
Stamp (Unity Stamp Company - Fact of Love)
Photo Corners (Heidi Swapp); Ribbon (American Crafts); Ink (Ranger); Thread (Coats & Clarks)

Sometimes we don't even start a project if you are a slow poke scrapper like me because we don't think we have enough time... Well there are ways to make super eye catching projects fast. Just think about all the Simple Scrapbook style layouts & cards you see in galleries & magazines. So for this card I challenged myself not to bury the card in layers (which there is nothing wrong with sometimes) but to "Keep it Simple" & get a cute card finished in no time.

This card will be going to Cards For Heroes (organzation that collects & ships blank handmade cards to our troops on active duty).

Supplies:
Cardstock (Bazzill - White Orange Peal)
Paper (American Crafts -Splash Backyard)
Ribbon (American Crafts -Leaf 1 - Backyard Ribbon)
Ink (Ranger); Watercolor Pencils (Faber-Castell
Stamps (Unity Stamp Co -Hodge Podge of Happiness & Folk Inspired)

Ok so now head on over to the Everything Scrapp'n Store & get some product that will excite you and get those creative juices flowing..... Heather is having a sale so who can resist?

Design Team Member Spotlight

Hi! My name is Zoa Barker and I am really excited to be on the Design Team for Everything Scrappn'! I am very passionate about art, and scrapping gives me the perfect outlet for expressing it. I love the creative process & my style is constantly evolving, but mostly very girly. My scrapping "must haves" are flowers, bling, ribbon and lace on my layouts. {I am a total Prima Junkie!} I love distressing, painting, inking, and sewing on my pages as well.

I have been very blessed to have been on several design teams; including kit clubs, challenge blogs; online stores and manufacturers. My work has been published several times in Scrapbook News & Review, where I was a featured scrapper there in Oct. 2008. I have also been featured on ScrapScene, Just Your Average Scrapbook and several other scrapbooking blogs.

Questions:
How long have you been scrapping?
13 years

Are your married, have kids, pets?
I have been married for almost 12 years to Matt, and we have 4 children (ages 2-10). We also have a Pomeranian: Bella, and 4 cats: Scratch, Hunny, Jack Sparrow & Sassy

What would you say your scrapping style is?
My style is very girly! I love anything PRIMA! Flowers, bling, lace, ribbon etc. I love the Shabby Chic look!

Do you have a designer that inspires you?
There are so many amazing scrappers out there that I gain my inspiration from- whenever I am stuck, I go to the Bad Girls Design Team Gallery and get some mojo! Those girls are awesome!!!

Give us some randomness about you……
My husband and I are currently enrolled in Bible School to be youth pastors at our church. We love the teenagers and really enjoy working with them!
Another random: I love Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks and I am addicted to anything chocolate and cherry pull n peel twizzlers!!

Check out Zoa's blog to see more of her and her creations, Scrap Away!

Prima Prima Prima

I am so glad to be able to post a blog after the wonderful holiday!

I told you that I had Prima Say it in Crystals on order and they are IN!! Check 'em out in the Jewel Category

Now that is not all that is not all that came in. That great rebellious line had pebbles and they are in. So if you ordered that line and wanted the pebbles get there quick - limited quantities.

Oh and these great journaling cards that match the art stitch line. You do not just get 30 journaling cards, the book they come in could easily be turned into a mini album or other sort of altered item. To see the book they come in check out the video. It is the first video I've attempted. Hopefully there will be many more!

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.

Do you have a quick recipe? email me hgturner@everythingscrappn.com
