Graphic 45 and Comso Cricket

I just love this line by Graphic 24 called Domestic Goddess. I just can't resist anything that has to do with fifties housewives :) I made this fun wall hanging for my kitchen using the Domestic Goddess papers, some crackle paint and a piece of cardboard from the box that my scrappy goodies came in.
These papers would be great for altered recipe cards or recipe books.

Okay, so pumpkins probably aren't the first thing you think of when you look at the Lil' man line from Cosmo Cricket...... but I am so ready for fall that when I saw these great oranges and deep reds that all I could think of were pumpkins :) I will be posting the instructions to make these on my blog.
I used the following papers from the Lil' Man line
Cheerful Charlie, Handsome Henry, Jumping Jack and Silly Sam

Spotlight on Sweet Cakes & Earth Love

I have some new scraps to share with you today. I couldn't wait to scrapbook photo booth strips from my Birthday and Pink Paislee's Sweet Cakes line worked well with my great summer day. I love using up my last bit of scraps to make a fun quick page like this one. Before you clean up after your next project, see if you can throw something simple but sweet together with your left overs. I like to keep my product together in art bin organizers and envelopes for projects just like this.
I added Frosted Lace stickles for a little extra glitz.
Products used: Pink Paislee Sweet Cake cutie pie pp, Sweet Cake sweet nothings pp, Sweet Cakes collection-postcards, American Crafts Thickers Rockabye alphas-black, Pink Paislee Vintage Moon Accents Black rub ons, American Crafts Fashion Accents 2 multicolor sticker (cool), Fashion Accents 1 black sticker, Queen & Co. Black rhinestones, Stickles-Frosted Lace, Pink Paislee On Schedule clear stamps, Making Memories Passport clear stamps, Staz On Ink Jet Black.

I was so excited when Everything Scrapp'n got in the Earth Love line by Cosmo Cricket. I had fun layering lots of pretty paper. This line is great for making your own embellishments by cutting out the borders and shapes and then popping them up with pop dots. For a little extra definition, you can ink the edges, add some stickels, and outline with a thin felt tipped pen.Products used: Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Remember pp, Relive pp, Rethink pp, Earth Love borders pp, Jenni Bowlin memo book sheet, Hambly Photography rub ons-Black, American Crafts Darling alphas-Chestnut, Cats Eye Chalk-Chestnut Roan, Ice Blue, Yellow Citrus, Making Memories colored staples, Making Memories distresser, pop dots.

Please share your creations with the Sweet Cakes & Earth Love lines by leaving a link in the comments section. I'd love to see how you rocked them. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm Loving Pink Paislee...

Using some photos of my sister gave me a chance to get a little more "girly" than I get when I'm scrapping the everyday in our lives.

I'm loving the Pink Paislee lines. Their new lower price points on embellishments that sure don't skimp on quantity made them the hit of CHA Summer 2009. The cardstock alphas give you 2 styles of letters both with a generous amount of each letter for less than $2!

The soft colors of Amber Road were perfect for these photos of my sister Karen visiting Stonehenge for the first time. She loves rocks so this was a must see dream come true on her trip.

I used one of the Postcards Journaling Spots as a frame for one of the photos - tons of journaling spots that you cut out yourself for the price of a piece of paper. Adding Stickles to a few of the inexpensive new E flowers from Prima really made them pop & look like the ones that cost 10x as much. To define the outer edges of the 12x12 die cut background paper & show off the details I mimicked the dots on the journaling spot & it made it pop.

Supplies: Paper (Pink Paislee - Amber Road Autumn Blossom; Pink Paislee - Amber Road Bonfire; Pink Paislee - Amber Road Fall Festival; Pink Paislee - Amber Road Harvest Hayride; Pink Paislee - Amber Road Postcards; Pink Paislee - Amber Road Apple Cider; ); Borders (Pink Paislee - Amber Road Borderline Stickers); Stamps (Pink Paislee - Amber Road - Impressions); Rub Ons (Pink Paislee - Amber Road Press Ons); Adhesive (Kokuyo, Diamond Glaze & Zva Pop Dots); Bling (Prima -Say it in Pearls Strip Black);

Ribbon (Maya Road - Black Gingham); Pin (Maya Road - Trinket Pins Vintage Black Pearl); Flowers (Prima E Line Flowers); Letters (Pink Paislee - Expressions Cardstock Alpha Pear); Glitter Glue (Tim Holtz - Stickles Antique Linen); Tag (October Afternoon); Pearls (Hobby Lobby by the yard)

I was crazy about the 12x12 diecut paper in Pink Paislee’s Twilight line. Karen shows it's never too old to have a crazy passion for Halloween. She loves to dress up & many years would even go to work in costume.

All of you know how I love the 12x12 die cut background papers. They really make a statement in any layout. This one from the Twilight line really has a lot of details & pazazz. I layered lots of the Pink Paislee rub ons. They go on "like butter". The hand stitching added some texture along with the Zva pearl flourishes. I'm all about cutting them up & using them in a visual triangle to draw the eye around the page.

to work in costume.

Supplies: Paper (Pink Paislee - Twilight Horizon; Pink Paislee – Twilight Eclipse ; Pink Paislee - Twilight Nightfall); Rub On (Pink Paislee – Twilight Press On); Bling (Zva - Symemetrical Flourishes Pearls White); Pin (Maya Road - Trinket Pins Vintage Black Pearl); Punch (Marvy); Card (Jenni Bowlin – Halloween Bingo Card); Letters (Jenni Bowlin – Tiny Circle Cardstock Alpha Black & American Crafts – Thickers Daydream Black); Ribbon (May Arts & Making Memories); Thread/Twine (Coats & Clarks & Vintage Stash)

I hope you took advantage of the fantastic sale over the weekend…

Happy Scrapping,

Suz

Pink Paislee's Amber Road

This is one of my all time absolute favorite lines of scrapbooking papers. You can get all of it in the store, just click on the shop by line and choose Amber Road or just click the link.

I found this metal sign and it was screaming at me to alter it, as soon as I saw this new paper line from Pink Paislee I knew I would use it to alter this sign. I have a container of all white Prima flowers, perfect for using Glimmer Mist on them, so I colored 6 flowers, let me know what you think.

Products used: Pink Paislee Amber Road - Apple Cider, Autumn Blossom, Bonfire, Harvest Hayride, Bella Brads, Borderline Stickers, & Punchouts, Prima Lace, Prima flowers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Marshmallow, Caramel Apple, Burnt Red, & Olive Vine.

Rusty Pickle's Panama Jack

I wanted to make a quick card for someone going on an island trip. This Panama Jack line was perfect for such a card. It's a multi fold card, looks more difficult than it actually is, and I've made several of these cards this weekend. It's called a Tri-Shutter Card, please click the link for the tutorial.

Animal Bash - Papers, Flowers, & Pebbles
Tropics - Papers, Flowers, & Pebbles
Artistry Flowers, Pebbles with text theme & bird/butterfly theme, Essentials 7, & don't forget those fabulous Say it in Pearls! Oh and I almost forgot stamps.

All the Essentials 7
4 style of stamps from Prima
Tropics Line, this picture above is just one of the beautiful papers in this line.
Animal Bash - Great whimsical line!

One of the art stitch papers, this particular one has two great trims at the bottom. If you look very closely you can see the quilted like flowers stitched over the whole paper.
The above flowers are called bittles. They are a soft burlap material with a center that makes them look like natural flowers.
Art stiches is no longer just on 12 x 12 paper. They come in die cuts now too. The above picture shows the ones for Animal Bash, also in stock at the store are the die cuts for the Tropics line.
Artistry flowers, funny story with these: Denise, Suz and I were walking around the prima booth with Adam my Sales Rep. I had finalized my order telling the girls the budget was GONE (I man prima had such GREAT product coming out I got almost all of it).
As I'm not looking at the total, getting my paper work and talking about other goodies that would be coming along with the order Denise comes running up with this can of flowers and a HUGE grin on her face. I laughed so hard and just told Adam to add it on. Did I mention all the ideas she had for them? Vintage, Glimmer Mist, to match Garphics 45 etc... Hope you all like them as much as she (we) do.
Well they have out done themselves with these. I love the mixture of color and texture. Crystals and Pearls together, does it get any better?

September Blog Hop (sort of)

Welcome to Everything Scrappn's September Blog Hop. Will it's sort of a blog hop, so please visit the design teams blogs and they will show you what they've done with products they received from the store. I hope you'll enjoy seeing what all of us have created and possibly find some inspiration. I tend to find inspiration from looking at other people's work, yes I am a scraplifter, I'll admit it. There are just so many great ideas out there and I know there is no way I can come up with all of them on my own, so I rely on other wonderfully talented scrappers to inspire my creativity, and I hope I can inspire a few of you in the process.

Don't forget about the contests running now, some super prizes are up for grabs!!!!!!!!

Enjoy!
Denise

My Weekend Work

Edith Fitzbolt I chose this paper because I wanted the red that signifies disney but for this particular layout I wanted to high light that border. This paper gave me the look of Minnie's dress even though it was not a Disney themed paper.

Vinyl Thickers
Glitter Thickers
Well what can I say it was late. I thought I looked carefully at my vinyl thickers only to lay them all down and be short an e. So I looked at the Tara Glitter Thickers in black and made the vowels match. I love the mix and match look and it's great for accidents.

Cricket Cartridge "Graphically Speaking" (the two's and the Note Pad)

The scalloped circle and the journaling card came from the Magic Line. I love this sheet with all the circles. I used a smaller circle just to highlight the note paper and then the small journaling card for the information. There are still plenty of circles and a few other stickers to make use of on this
Magic Circles sheet.

To make the border of two's show up I laid a newspaper over the part of my paper that I didn't want to spray. I misted the paper that was showing. Laying the newspaper down gave me a crisp edge. I like this look because I was able to darken only the section the border would lay on and could keep the popping red for the rest.
Haunted Shadows Glimmer Mist

I am laughing at myself as I post this. I got home around 4:30 in the afternoon Saturday after a movie with a friend. No husband, no kids and the group crop had ended early. I already knew I was going to use my Cricuit to cut shapes for the journaling cards I needed to make for our scrapbooking group. I spent a good hour cutting with the cricuit to find that I finally had the 12 pieces I needed. You know how it is. You think a size is fine cut the full 12 thinking you are saving yourself time only to find that it just won't work. LOL

I fiddled around and found paper to mount the journaling card on, the stamp, the embellishments and the ink to stamp the lines. Next thing I knew it was after 6 and I still needed dinner and adhesive. GRRRR To make a long story short I was up till 11:30 scrapping and got 12 journaling cards and this one page done! Crazy right? And the only reason I got this page done is because I forgot to hit shift to get the image I needed and got that border of two's.

I am glad though that I got a page done. Every page counts!

Design Team Member Spotlight: Michelle Jacquemet

Where are you from? Pacifica, California
What is the name and link of your blog? Mission Creativity http://michellejacquemet.blogspot.com/
What is your day job? I work for a camera gear rental company in the Bay Area. I work the front desk and schedule. My position changes frequently since we are a small start up company.
What fad of scrapbooking did you never get into? I never really got into scrapping with corrugated cardboard. Sometimes it is difficult for me to scrap messy.
What do you feel is the biggest waste of time in scrapbooking? Deciding what paper to use. I always try to match the colors in my photographs. I suppose this takes so long since there are so many incredible choices out there.
What would you call your scrapbooking style? My style is very colorful and playful. I love to experiment and try out new techniques on my projects.
What item will we always find on your projects? Lately you will find stamping and embossing of everything. Of course I love to use bright colors. Hambly overlays, rub-ons, and lots of layers.
What sparks your creativity when you are scrapbooking? I am inspired by many things. I enjoy listening to music, watching Friends, or hanging out with friends while scrapbooking. New product, a photo, or an Ali Edwards book always encourages inspiration for me too.
What is your favorite layout of all time and why? I have a lot of favorite layouts. It is really hard to choose just one since my taste and style changes with time. This is one of my most favorite recent pages, because of the bright colors, the photo is distorted with a fish eye lens, and it's layered with lots of Hambly. I love it so much I had a copy framed for my office at work.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Limited Edition Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist Colors!

Don't wait to order these. Once they are gone, they're gone!

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.

Do you have a quick recipe? email me hgturner@everythingscrappn.com
