Happy New Year!

Well this is the last day of 2009! I am sad and excited at the same time. 2010 will be bringing me LOTS of new endeavors. I hope that you will have a safe and fun end to your 2009 and that you will start your 2010 off with a bang!

In the forum for the question of the day I suggested everyone answer with at least one thing they are very proud of themselves for accomplishing. If you want to list it here please do!

I am most proud of myself for staying with a workout routine. This routine did not loose me a single pound but it prevented any extra pounds from finding me in 09. (I don't diet so if I don't workout I just expand) This is a goal I want to continue in 2010 as I also hope to get back down to my fit self. It is my desire that baby steps will get me there.

I hope you will all find you way over to the forum as there will be lots of things going on over there. In mid January the Design Team and I will be hosting our first online crop. I will also be taking some custom style orders there, but there will be more info on that after CHA.

Reflections or Resolutions December Journaling Challenge

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

It's the 28th & that means ES Challenge Day.  This month I thought a journaling challenge would fit the time of the year... as 2009 is winding down & the frenzy of the holidays is over I start reflecting on what happend during the year & my hopes & dreams for the next.

Create a layout about YOU (no groaning allowed lol) then: REFLECT on the year past, share your RESOLUTIONS for the coming year or if you are feeling really ambitious do them both....

The design team are showcasing Webster's Pages or Graphics 45 papers in their takes on the challenge....

Here's mine... reflecting on the past.  You'll see a closeup of the journaling & linked supply list on my blog as you hop.

You have until Midnight Saturday, January 9th, 2010 to complete the challenge & leave a comment to this thread with a link to a photo of your project to be entered to win a gift certificate for the Everything Scrapp'n store.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

There's lots of stuff happening in January.  We'll be having our fist online crop January 15th - 18th in the ES Forum with lots of prizes, we have a talented guest designer Tracy "traychic" Gregory, Monthly Bingo game in ES Forum, and of course our blog hopping giveaways on the 14th & 28th.  You know a month isn't complete without a sale - I'm sure Heather will be throwing on in for MLK holiday...

We're minus one of the design team today - Michelle has been sick with the flu for a week now. She'll be posting here later in the week when she's feeling better.

Now go get a dose of inspiration from the design team:

Have a great day!

Altered Art with papers

So I post this a time ago at my blog and would like to post some products that can help you active this look, that I've used from the store to do this altered breaksfast tray, that I will hang at my wall.
My base was using Pink Paislee North Pole Paper , with some acrylic ink around it.
Zva pearl flourish which by the way I could use in two projects. Wonderful Webster's paper Grow Dreams. Some die cut paper that I colored yellow. And of course some glimmer mist.
I did this project live at my show, you can see the recorded videos here.

Hope you got inspired !
Jana

December Photo a Day

Well I hope you enjoyed Novembers photo a day challenge. I also hope you will participate in the December Photo a Day Challenge.

Ok take a photo a day everyday for the month of December. Now I don't mean take a photo everyday of you dog, cat or kids. I mean think out side that box. Do you have a book your reading? A favorite pair of shoes a scarf, or even a scrapbooking project. This project was designed to stretch you photography skills. When you stretch those you will stretch those scrapbooking skills. Now I know that something will happen over the month that your kids or your pets do that you just have to get so you can have one of your kids and one of your pets in the mix but that's it!

I've done this project many times in the past. I have one that I'm actually scrapbooking 3 years after the fact. I love that I did it. I have pictures of some things that have since been torn up or moved on.

If you need inspiration check out the November Challenge. There are links!

Two ways to win a gift certificate:

$10.00 gift certificate to a random participant who adds a link to their 31 photo's for December by January 2nd midnight est time. (Here to this blog post)
$25.00 gift certificate to a random participant who adds a link to their 31 photo's scrapped for the month of December by January 6 th midnight est time. You do not have to do a page per picture but you can not have more that 7 pictures per page. (So a week per layout)

December Photo-A-Day Challenge Contest: Did you enjoy last month's Photo-A-Day Challenge or did you miss out for whatever reason? Well let's do it again, this time with a twist! Pick a theme to document daily. What you eat for breakfast, your outfits for the month, something you read or watched on TV that day; get it?! Think of all the snacks, bottles, and diapers that get made or changed. Leave a link to your photos on the December Photo-A-Day blog post. (To come tomorrow)

What's in it for you? Besides self satisfaction and a neat project you will have completed, there's also the chance to win two prices:

$25 gift certificate to Everything Scrappn' to the person that scraps all the pictures for the month (min. 1 layout per week)

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.

Do you have a quick recipe? email me hgturner@everythingscrappn.com
