Great intentions don't always breed great results. I had every intention of finishing a project after church, blogging here to my great customers, working on the March Newsletter and getting some financial work done. Well it snowed!
Down here in Middle GA it only snows every 8 years or so. My son was a little baby (not walking) last time we had any snow. So needless to say we've been playing in the snow and taking pictures and video. Super fun for the kids at least, personally I HATE the cold.
Ok so I did at least get the project finished! Thats good right : )
Materials Used:
Jumbo Scalllop Banner
My Little Monster
Paper Ribbon
Core'dinations
Orange Peel Stickles
Orange with Aqua Dots Lime with Aqua Dots
This line was great fun on this project. Since it is double sided I was able to use lots of different patterns and had plenty of choices. I made this banner for my Son's bedroom door. If you look at the image of the chipboard in the store and then at what I've done with it you will notice that I did not use it wide, I used it tall. I measured 4" on one of the scalloped ends and cut it with my paper trimmer. My paper trimmer only cut half way through (which I wanted) and I folded on that cut. I sanded the fold so that no large chunks were standing up.
I placed my papers just like I was making a layout, I did use a liquid adhesive on this project to insure that it stuck and the ends didn't get curled up. Now something new I was able to work with is the Paper Ribbon by Daisy Buckets Designs. It was a lot of fun. It was so easy to tear and curl. Since it was my son's sign I didn't want to curl each piece of the ribbon but I did curl a few to show what you can do.
In the spirit of Facebook & Myspace I made him some "Status" cards. To make the place for the status I just used a piece of Core'dinations sanded the edges to give just a hint of aqua and added clear photo corners. I will put him a pocket on the back to store them in but didn't take a picture since it won't be "pretty"
I also used the Core'dinations in the cricket for the lettering Cade's Pad. I took a close up of pad to show the look I got when I took my exacto knife and scraped the black of in just a few spots I wanted to highlight a different color.
Lastly, I used my cropadile and punched holes in the top corners to run ribbon through. I chose 2 coordinating ribbons and twisted them. To see the ribbons I chose click the following links: Orange with Aqua Dots Lime with Aqua Dots

Scrapbooking Recipes
With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.
Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:
1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.
