Bellezo

This month I got to work with the beautiful Bellezo - Paper Kit from My Minds Eye. I was drawn to the softness and vintage feel of the papers. Because of this, I really wanted the LO to have a vintage feel to it, so lots of crumpling, distressing and inking. I also got to play with some of the new limited edition glimmermist that just recently made it to the store, Candle Light glimmermist which gave the paper a beautiful glow; Frozen Lake which is an amazing bluish green color and Pashmina which is a brilliant violet color. Pashmina is already sold out, candle light and frozen lake only have one more each in stock...... these are hard to find..... you better get in everything scrapping and order them NOW!

Just a few quick cards made with the scraps from this months LOs, this paper line is very versatile, would make great cards for different occasions.

Spotlight on Sweet Cakes

Can you believe all the fun stuff Heather has been getting at the store? I love the time when all the new product from CHA begins to arrive. I just received a big box of new goodies and can't wait to play with them. In the mean time, I worked with an oldie but goodie. Of course I love the bright colors from the Sweet Cakes line by Pink Paislee.

I scrapped some of my favorite beach photos I took of my friend Jenny at Montara Beach. She was such a willing model to jump for me so many times. I just love the Popsicle paper and all the orange!
Products: Pink Paislee Sweet Cakes Postcards, Cutie Pie paper, Sweet Nothings paper, Sweet Cakes paper, Hambly Wings Overlay-white, American Crafts Chit Chat accent thickers -white, Doodlebug Loopy Lou white alpha stickers, Hambly butterfly clear stickers, Pink Paislee Office Lingo Cubicle paper, Pink Paislee On Schedule clear stamps, Staz On Brown Ink, Glimmer Mist-Lemon Zest.

One day in January we had a really big heat wave and I found myself at the Taco Bell at the beach. I couldn't believe how long the line was. It definitely lets you know how nice the weather is by how long the line is! I always associate the beach with Taco Bell for this. We have one of two Taco Bells on the Beach in the entire world!
Products: Pink Paislee Sweet Cakes Postcards, Cutie Pie paper, Sweet Nothings paper, Bazzil Kraft cardstock, American Crafts Chit Chat accent thickers -white, Doodlebug Loopy Lou white alpha stickers, Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle alpha stickers-brown, American Crafts Elements metal photo turns-silver, Stickles-lime green.

New Products Galore...

Well it's my day to post some inspiration for all of you...

I sure am loving all the new products from CHA pouring into the store. Heather is sure getting a workout receiving, putting it in inventory on the computer & in the warehouse & filling all the orders of others like me who are anxious to start creating with it.

I like to stretch my products as far as I can. Cutting strips of pattern paper will allow you to use one sheet on several projects. If you look at the back of my layouts you will also notice that I cut out parts of the background paper that would just be covered with other layers. So even when I am using the outermost of a 12x12 sheet the middle is carefully cut out so I have a square to use elsewhere - this really stretches my paper. The bling flourishes can also be cut apart so that you aren't using the entire piece on one layout. You can see many of my budget friendly tricks used on all these layouts...

Pink Paislee Amber Road
I have so many photos of CHA I thought I would use some for my layouts today. I really enjoyed meeting people that I know online while I was at the convention. Unity Stamps was one of my must stop places. I had to get a photo meeting Angela & Brooke. I mixed many of the new Pink Paislee Amber Road papers with Maya Road, Prima, & Jenni Bowlin Embellishments.

Supplies: Cardstock (Bazzill); Paper (Pink Paislee -Amber Road Apple Cider , Pink Paislee -Amber Road Autumn Blossom, Pink Paislee -Amber Road Bonfire, Pink Paislee -Amber Road Harvest Hayride, Sassafras Lass); Chipboard Buttons (Jenni Bowlin - Photographer's Mark); Journaling Spot (Pink Paislee -Amber Road Postcard); Pins (Maya Road -Trinket Pins Vintage Black Pearl); Ribbon (Maya Road - Black Gingham); Letters (Pink Paislee -Expressions Cardstock Alphabets Chocolate ); Bling (Prima -Pearl Swirl Black Small ); Ink (Ranger & Colorbox); Stamps (Unity Stamp Co); Thread (Coats & Clarks)

Jenni Bowlin & Graphics 45
I had a few favorite pictures with guys at CHA. Tim Holtz has a huge following & when he is "in the house" you can hardly get near him... so late one afternoon I couldn't believe he was by himself in his booth. He was very gracious to take a photo with me. Another favorite guy was from Tattered Angels. During the week he was so much fun - chatting with us whenever he passed us. I can't for the life of me remember his name... that'll teach me to write things down in my little notebook. If you were at CHA & remember leave me a comment please.

For this layout I wanted to keep it simple with clean lines. The new Jenni Bowlin papers & embellishments made it super easy & had a very classic look. I even used some of the Graphics 45 Domestic Goddess - choosing a stripe made a more femine line paper be appropriate for a masculine page.

Graphics 45 also has an alpha that is part of the line. It's an incredible bargain because they are pre punched on a 12x12 sheet of paper. So for $1.40 you get lots of alphas (2 full upper case alphas, 3 full lower case alphas & 2 numbers). You can easily get them to look like the new Tim Holtz metal type letters by punching them out & running them thru a Xyron sticker maker (to apply adhesive & stablize them on a non stick sheet) then apply a thin coat of Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents.

Supplies: Paper (Jenni Bowlin -Classic Die Cut Label Paper Leger, Graphics 45 - Domestic Goddess Tea Time); Journaling Spot (Jenni Bowlin - Memo Book Black); Letters (Graphics 45 - Domestic Goddess Alpha ) & Jenni Bowlin -Reverse Tiny Circle Alpha Cardstock Sticker Black); Ribbon (Maya Road - Black Gingham); Chipboard Buttons (Jenni Bowlin - Photographers Mark); Brads (American Crafts);

Rusty Pickle - Panama Jack
Finally Heather & I wanted to showcase the new Rusty Pickle Panama Jack line that just came in the store. At first glance it's a very theme oriented with a lot of beachy images & drinking logos. I looked past that & found wonderful products for a layout about my adult sons' birthdays. I love the diecut yellow notebook paper & the mini file folders are an instant favorite to hide journaling.

I hope this will inspire you to look past the obvious of the papers in your stash & in the store... and get creative making them work for you.

The file folder allowed me to hide my journaling. For this layout is was perfect because I wanted to tell the story of the day but since it was a difficult day for my older son I didn't want it to be in view whenever we looked thru the album. You see he broke up with his fiance that day - it had been building up for weeks & he had just had enough...

The journaling spots really added interest to the layout. I cut a noteworthy shape to fit on the file folder and fill in the blank spot under my stamped calendar. The dark border of the square journaling spot really added weight & drew the eye to the titlework. Again on my "guy" layouts I keep the embellishing simple. I used a punch to make a file folder label to add more interest. The Jenni Bowlin Tiny Alphas are a perfect addition. A few buttons scattered on the page in a visual triange complete the design.

Supplies: Paper (Rusty Pickle - Blue Hawaii , Rusty Pickle - Sail Away, Rusty Pickle -Tequila Sunrise, Rusty Pickle - Tropical Hangover); File Folder (Rusty Pickle - Buttercup); Journaling Spots (Rusty Pickle - Cardstock Coupons); Stickers (Jenni Bowlin - Apothecary Stickers ); Photo Corners (Heidi Swapp); Letters (Jenni Bowlin -Reverse Tiny Circle Alpha Cardstock Sticker Navy , American Crafts - Thickers ); Ticket (Jenni Bowlin); Stamps (Unity Stamp Co & Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards); Ink (Ranger); Buttons (Misc Stash); Clips (Tim Holtz & Making Memories); Staples (Tim Holtz); Thread (Coats & Clarks); Punches (EK Success & McGill)

Remember the new products are always on sale the first week they are in inventory so buy early for best selection & price - you sure don't see that very often getting a bargain when an item first comes in... thanks Heather you sure know how to take care of your customers...

Leave me a comment so I know you visited. Have a fantastic weekend & remember to do something creative.

Autumn Bliss

The New Autumn Bliss is in at the store.

Check out this great layout I made with these papers

Step 1 Build layout on pumpkin border patterned paper

Step 2 Cut 8" x 5.5" bronze tonal patterned paper and place in the center of you pumpkin paper

Step 3 Cut 6.75" x 5" blue plaid patterned paper. Place this paper in the center (up & down) and off to the left of your bronze tonal patterned paper.

Step 4 Cut .75" x 5.5" green strip from wide stripe patterned paper this piece stands tall to the right of your blue plaid on your bronze paper.

Collect step 5, 6

Step 5 Red Leaf Clear Die Cut

Step 6 Bronze Leaf clear die cut

Take clear backing off of the two die cut pieces. These pieces are to be placed in the lower right hand corner of the bronze paper.

Step 7 Green Leaf epoxy sticker
This sticker is placed at the bottom of the die cut leaves you have just adhered.

Step 8 "Give Thanks" Epoxy
This sticker is placed approximately where all the leaves come together.

Step 9 "Simple Pleasures" Epoxy

You can see this in the picture above. It is placed up and to the right of the leave die cuts you have just finished with.

The next step takes you to the upper left hand corner of your layout.

Step 10 Bronze Swirl Clear Die Cut

Step 11 "Family" Clear Cut Die Cut Title

Again remove clear backing from the two clear die cuts. The Family die cut is overlaid on the swirl and this is adhered to the top left corner of your paper layers. Once this is down you will place the next two steps on and around this.

Step 12 Maple Leaf epoxy sticker

I choice to use a pumpkin epoxy sticker and place it under the F in family. The next sticker I chose traditions and placed it at the end of the word family.

Step 13 "traditions Epoxy Sticker

Step 14 Two Pumpkin Epoxy Stickers

This final step I did not use because I did not feel that you could see the pumpkins within the pumpkins already on the paper. If you choose to the instruction have you put them in the spaces of the pumpkins on the bottom of the paper.

I do hope you enjoy this layout courtesy of Little Yellow Bicycle

Rusty Pickle Picture Problem

If you are trying to look at the Rusty Pickle Panama Jack line at Everything Scrapp'n you may not see images. At the moment I know that Safari and Firefox internet browsers are showing the images. Internet Explorer will not allow the images.

The webmaster is working on this problem but I wanted to let you know how to view the images in the mean time.

Nikki Sivils

Wow let me tell you I've been working like crazy! Between trying to find my house after being away for CHA and getting started getting the CHA products on the website I realized that there is only one of me - LOL. I think I could use another one of me!

Ok in all seriousness. More CHA goodies. Nikki Sivils is a new name in the scrapbooking world. I got a flier of her new paper and honestly sat it off to the side and wasn't impressed. At first look I thought Horse Shoes and Cherries together was odd, and the circles - LOUD. Well that same flyer just kept catching my eye. Then I saw it on the CHA website - again it caught my eye. Well the first day my sales rep suggested we stop by her booth. Denise, Suz & I did just that. We were SUPER impressed! Two collection will be coming in any day now. My Sweet Cherry Pie & Henry's Brilliance. Check out these photos:

CHA Product

Ok I know that I've almost given Zoa a heart attack since I've not spent any time in the blog on Prima. So Zoa this ones for you. When I got the sneak peak from Prima I was pretty impressed with a few of their new things, not their paper so much but they were bringing sprites back so that's a plus for many of us. After getting to the show and finding some things that would be less expensive but still great quality I worried that besides the sprites there would be nothing (breath Zoa I'm just telling the story). Well I met my rep Adam and he started showing me the goods in person and well let me tell you this post is just best with pics so here is almost everything I've ordered. There area few things I couldn't get a picture for so they'll come later.

I'll start by showing you some Prima Goodies. Remember the Essentials 7 coordinate with the papers but don't have to be used with them so there will only be the one assorted picture. I won't put a pic of it with the lines below.

These are some pebbles they released that aren't for a specific paper line but will work great with other things coming into the store. These first pebbles will look great with Webster's Pages and the next set will go well with Cosmo Crickets Boy Friend line but of course they are not only going to go with these lines. I know the creativity in the scrapbook world will make good use of these.

I was asked to bring in some of the inexpensive small stamps and prima was the best place I found to get them. Here are a few there is one more I couldn't get a pictures of .

This lone paper is one of the Art Stitch papers. Art Stitch was introduced at Winter CHA and was a huge hit. This paper didn't do much for me until I saw one of their examples where they had inserted pictures & or embellishments into the circles. There is another one that I ordered that I was unable to get a picture of. There will be an Art Stitch paper to match the Tropics line and the Animal Bash line. So that's 4 Art Stitch papers to choose from.

Denise, Suz and I thought these would be a great addition for all of you our there who like to paint, distress, and glimmer mist items to make them match your layout. This way you do not need to buy several different packs you make this pack work for you.

These flowers are not Prima's normal mulberry paper they are burlap with a center.

Prima told us that customers have been asking for lilies and this is the first time they have done the lilies. I like them just because it is a new look.
These are some Art Stitch embellishments that are being release. I can't decide if these are suppose to coordinate with the Tropics line or not but in the Animal Bash section you will find some that do coordinate with it.

Prima has taken their swirls up a notch and added points and butterflies to them. What is great about these is if your not a butterfly person the butterfly is in a position that you can remove it and not compromise the swirl. And as always you can cut this to fit your needs and wants.

Denise loved these and I don't recall seeing the pieces that are to the far right of the picture. Sorry for the life of me I can't think of what they are called right now.

Prima mixed pearls and crystals in two tones in these swirls to give you a mix of not only color but texture and look as well.

These flower centers are a new style that give you some new type bling. Once they come in I'll show you what they look like in the center of a hydrangea (you know those flowers we all had to have and now we need something to give them an edge- this is it)

I was asked to bring in lace - hear it is. It is an antique white color.

Tropics is one of the new paper line. This has orange and aqua and in my opinion is just a fresh look.

Above Pebbles; Below Paper Line

Below: Roses to coordinate with Tropics Line

(Sorry couldn't remember which paper was the art stitch for this blog)

Animal Bash is one that I didn't see in the sneak peak. I love it. It follows along the line of the Mommy and Me from the Winter release. Super Cute with some great embellishments.

Above: Art Stitch paper
Below: Paper Line

below: pebbles

Below: Art Stitch Embellishments
So there you go Prima fans. I didn't forget you. I love Prima as much as you do and I hope to always be able to bring their lines into the store. Check back for more CHA update, Contest and sales.

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.

Do you have a quick recipe? email me hgturner@everythingscrappn.com
