Suz Designs

Well it's my turn to inspire you today... I'm loving the new products in the ES store.  October Afternoon, Pink Paislee, Glimmer Mist, oh my goes thru my head like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz says as she is going down the yellow brick road lol.  If you are wanting any of the latest products you better hurry & start shopping because it is flying out of the store.

Here's a layout I made with Pink Paislee Starlight & a strip of my favorite October Afternoon paper

These are photos taken at Disney Animal Kingdom while on the safari.  It goes by so fast that I felt like I was just snapping away & many weren't in focus but these turned out really well.  It was such a hot day many of the animals were hiding from the bright sun but it was still a memorable day since it was the first time going to that park.

I love the Pink Paislee herringbone distressed letters but they were just too big for this layout so I tried to make my own with my Slice machine.

Supplies:  Cardstock (Bazzill); Paper (Pink Paislee - Starlight Glow, Pink Paislee - Starlight Shine,  Pink Paislee - Starlight Spark, Pink Paislee - Starlight Bright, Pink Paislee - Starlight Dazzle, October Afternoon - Thrift Shop One of a Kind); Sticker Letters (Cosmo Cricket - Tiny Type Cream); Diecut Letters (Making Memories Slice); Punch (EK Success); Journaling Spots (Little Yellow Bicycle Journaling Tablet & K and Company); Ticket (Pink Paislee - Starlight Diecut Sheet); Stamp (Unity Stamp Co); Markers (Copics); Rub Ons (Heidi Grace); Brads (Heidi Swapp)

I'm not going to spotlight the latest & greatest since I can't pick just one.  I have all the links in the supply list above.  I do want to share these great little journaling books by Little Yellow Bicycle since for $3.99 you get tons of journaling spots.  I buy them in all the different themes since they are so usable.

My 2nd project is a of course on my favorite topic... one of my pets

Echo Park is a fun new paper company.  I used some of the Sweet Summertime line on this page.  The little "flag" border was made by cutting out some of the argyle paper & topped it with a strip of embossed cardstock and one of their border stickers.

Supplies:  Cardstock (Core'dinations - Teals Blues & Bazzill); Paper (Echo Park - Sweet Summertime Argyle); Stickers (Echo Park - Sweet Summertime Alphabet & Sticker Elements); Letters (Making Memories Slice); Staples (Tim Holtz); Dry Embossing (Provo Craft - Cuttlebug); Pen (Ranger)

That's all I have for you today.  Hope you have a great one & do something creative.

Michelle's February Challenge

Hey! Its hard to believe that February is coming to an end. It's time to challenge you again. My challenge to you is to use Pink Paislee's Cupid line in a non-Valentine way. I have the hardest time scrapbooking holidays and I think that's because I am so used to scrapbooking everyday life. I find it fun and challenging to take holiday themed papers and re-purpose it. So I would love for you to show me your skills and use the line in a non-holiday way! The prize is your choice of the Bucket of Boy or Bucket of Girl embellishments from Queen & Co.I have a bunch of fun photos from Europe that I've been needing to scrap for over a year. I thought it would be fun to make a mini album using the adorable Cupid line.

I'll have more pages of my mini on my blog soon. Stop by to check it out.

My second project was to use my left over products and create a second page to my two page layout. I made the first page about two weeks ago. I mirrored the same papers and created a page about how much we love polaroids. I haven't done a two page layout in a long time and had a lot of fun doing it!I hope to see your take on my challenge. Please link your take here in the comments. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team did for this challenge too. :D

Spotlight on Sweet Cakes & Earth Love

I have some new scraps to share with you today. I couldn't wait to scrapbook photo booth strips from my Birthday and Pink Paislee's Sweet Cakes line worked well with my great summer day. I love using up my last bit of scraps to make a fun quick page like this one. Before you clean up after your next project, see if you can throw something simple but sweet together with your left overs. I like to keep my product together in art bin organizers and envelopes for projects just like this.
I added Frosted Lace stickles for a little extra glitz.

Pink Paislee's Amber Road

This is one of my all time absolute favorite lines of scrapbooking papers. You can get all of it in the store, just click on the shop by line and choose Amber Road or just click the link.

I found this metal sign and it was screaming at me to alter it, as soon as I saw this new paper line from Pink Paislee I knew I would use it to alter this sign. I have a container of all white Prima flowers, perfect for using Glimmer Mist on them, so I colored 6 flowers, let me know what you think.

Products used: Pink Paislee Amber Road - Apple Cider, Autumn Blossom, Bonfire, Harvest Hayride, Bella Brads, Borderline Stickers, & Punchouts, Prima Lace, Prima flowers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Marshmallow, Caramel Apple, Burnt Red, & Olive Vine.

Rusty Pickle's Panama Jack

I wanted to make a quick card for someone going on an island trip. This Panama Jack line was perfect for such a card. It's a multi fold card, looks more difficult than it actually is, and I've made several of these cards this weekend. It's called a Tri-Shutter Card, please click the link for the tutorial.

Can you believe all the fun stuff Heather has been getting at the store? I love the time when all the new product from CHA begins to arrive. I just received a big box of new goodies and can't wait to play with them. In the mean time, I worked with an oldie but goodie. Of course I love the bright colors from the Sweet Cakes line by Pink Paislee.

I scrapped some of my favorite beach photos I took of my friend Jenny at Montara Beach. She was such a willing model to jump for me so many times. I just love the Popsicle paper and all the orange!

New Products Galore...

Well it's my day to post some inspiration for all of you...

I sure am loving all the new products from CHA pouring into the store. Heather is sure getting a workout receiving, putting it in inventory on the computer & in the warehouse & filling all the orders of others like me who are anxious to start creating with it.

I like to stretch my products as far as I can. Cutting strips of pattern paper will allow you to use one sheet on several projects. If you look at the back of my layouts you will also notice that I cut out parts of the background paper that would just be covered with other layers. So even when I am using the outermost of a 12x12 sheet the middle is carefully cut out so I have a square to use elsewhere - this really stretches my paper. The bling flourishes can also be cut apart so that you aren't using the entire piece on one layout. You can see many of my budget friendly tricks used on all these layouts...

Pink Paislee Amber Road
I have so many photos of CHA I thought I would use some for my layouts today. I really enjoyed meeting people that I know online while I was at the convention. Unity Stamps was one of my must stop places. I had to get a photo meeting Angela & Brooke. I mixed many of the new Pink Paislee Amber Road papers with Maya Road, Prima, & Jenni Bowlin Embellishments.

Supplies: Cardstock (Bazzill); Paper (Pink Paislee -Amber Road Apple Cider , Pink Paislee -Amber Road Autumn Blossom, Pink Paislee -Amber Road Bonfire, Pink Paislee -Amber Road Harvest Hayride, Sassafras Lass); Chipboard Buttons (Jenni Bowlin - Photographer's Mark); Journaling Spot (Pink Paislee -Amber Road Postcard); Pins (Maya Road -Trinket Pins Vintage Black Pearl); Ribbon (Maya Road - Black Gingham); Letters (Pink Paislee -Expressions Cardstock Alphabets Chocolate ); Bling (Prima -Pearl Swirl Black Small ); Ink (Ranger & Colorbox); Stamps (Unity Stamp Co); Thread (Coats & Clarks)

Jenni Bowlin & Graphics 45
I had a few favorite pictures with guys at CHA. Tim Holtz has a huge following & when he is "in the house" you can hardly get near him... so late one afternoon I couldn't believe he was by himself in his booth. He was very gracious to take a photo with me. Another favorite guy was from Tattered Angels. During the week he was so much fun - chatting with us whenever he passed us. I can't for the life of me remember his name... that'll teach me to write things down in my little notebook. If you were at CHA & remember leave me a comment please.

For this layout I wanted to keep it simple with clean lines. The new Jenni Bowlin papers & embellishments made it super easy & had a very classic look. I even used some of the Graphics 45 Domestic Goddess - choosing a stripe made a more femine line paper be appropriate for a masculine page.

Graphics 45 also has an alpha that is part of the line. It's an incredible bargain because they are pre punched on a 12x12 sheet of paper. So for $1.40 you get lots of alphas (2 full upper case alphas, 3 full lower case alphas & 2 numbers). You can easily get them to look like the new Tim Holtz metal type letters by punching them out & running them thru a Xyron sticker maker (to apply adhesive & stablize them on a non stick sheet) then apply a thin coat of Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents.

Supplies: Paper (Jenni Bowlin -Classic Die Cut Label Paper Leger, Graphics 45 - Domestic Goddess Tea Time); Journaling Spot (Jenni Bowlin - Memo Book Black); Letters (Graphics 45 - Domestic Goddess Alpha ) & Jenni Bowlin -Reverse Tiny Circle Alpha Cardstock Sticker Black); Ribbon (Maya Road - Black Gingham); Chipboard Buttons (Jenni Bowlin - Photographers Mark); Brads (American Crafts);

Rusty Pickle - Panama Jack
Finally Heather & I wanted to showcase the new Rusty Pickle Panama Jack line that just came in the store. At first glance it's a very theme oriented with a lot of beachy images & drinking logos. I looked past that & found wonderful products for a layout about my adult sons' birthdays. I love the diecut yellow notebook paper & the mini file folders are an instant favorite to hide journaling.

I hope this will inspire you to look past the obvious of the papers in your stash & in the store... and get creative making them work for you.

The file folder allowed me to hide my journaling. For this layout is was perfect because I wanted to tell the story of the day but since it was a difficult day for my older son I didn't want it to be in view whenever we looked thru the album. You see he broke up with his fiance that day - it had been building up for weeks & he had just had enough...

The journaling spots really added interest to the layout. I cut a noteworthy shape to fit on the file folder and fill in the blank spot under my stamped calendar. The dark border of the square journaling spot really added weight & drew the eye to the titlework. Again on my "guy" layouts I keep the embellishing simple. I used a punch to make a file folder label to add more interest. The Jenni Bowlin Tiny Alphas are a perfect addition. A few buttons scattered on the page in a visual triange complete the design.

Supplies: Paper (Rusty Pickle - Blue Hawaii , Rusty Pickle - Sail Away, Rusty Pickle -Tequila Sunrise, Rusty Pickle - Tropical Hangover); File Folder (Rusty Pickle - Buttercup); Journaling Spots (Rusty Pickle - Cardstock Coupons); Stickers (Jenni Bowlin - Apothecary Stickers ); Photo Corners (Heidi Swapp); Letters (Jenni Bowlin -Reverse Tiny Circle Alpha Cardstock Sticker Navy , American Crafts - Thickers ); Ticket (Jenni Bowlin); Stamps (Unity Stamp Co & Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards); Ink (Ranger); Buttons (Misc Stash); Clips (Tim Holtz & Making Memories); Staples (Tim Holtz); Thread (Coats & Clarks); Punches (EK Success & McGill)

Remember the new products are always on sale the first week they are in inventory so buy early for best selection & price - you sure don't see that very often getting a bargain when an item first comes in... thanks Heather you sure know how to take care of your customers...

Leave me a comment so I know you visited. Have a fantastic weekend & remember to do something creative.

Heather's CHA version

Well I guess it's my turn to give you the down low.

I'm going to start by saying WOW! This was my first summer CHA and I loved it. I was actually able to take part in a few make & takes and I didn't feel as overwhelmed as I usually do. Part of that was all the great input from you guys. All the comments you left made it so easy to have a game plan (a good game plan).

As Suz told you I knew that Pink Paislee had to be our first stop. I mean you can't turn down getting a pink strip in your hair! They were also offering a goody bag to the first 150 orders. What does that mean for you? You could win the contents of the goodie bag. So be on the look out for a Pink Paislee contest.

Here is one of the make n takes I was able to do with Pink Paislee. If I'm able to find all the pieces this will be offered as an internet class.

Lets see next we looked around at several booths and made lots of decisions on what had good price points and what you the customer was looking for. This brought us to a company who will be new to Everything Scrapp'n - Zva. They offer crystals and pearls in strips and swirls for a GREAT!!! price. You will be able to get 40+ crystals for less than $3.00 (If I remember correctly - Don't have my price sheet yet). I was also told by the DT that pop dots are getting hard to find. Well I made it a little easier for you. I will be carrying their pop dots. They have a great price too. (I Did NOT order the Brads)

Little Yellow Bicycle was a must. Their fall line is to die for. I got to make a layout with their product. I will show you that later when the product comes in. That way you'll be able to download the instructions and purchase all the materials. It will ship on or around the 18th of Aug! The picture below is one of the papers that will be in the layout.

Oh exciting news for some - I now carry Basic Grey. I purchased their Nook & Pantry and the Indian Summer, several of their lace papers that will go with other lines by other companies. Their bling is on it's way as well as some of their unique embellishments.

Wow I feel like I'm overwhelming you : ) Ok Webster's Pages. They just rock! The internet didn't do them justice. I've had so many of you email me and say you would like to see me carry their papers. The time has finally come that this will happen. I'm excited because their paper is just so unique, I've never seen bright vintage. I love it! They have also come out with some embellishments that are crocheted -AWESOME (if you turn your head sideways and look at the bottom of the pic you'll see these - sorry couldn't make the edited one come over) The second picture is a great card from one of the new lines.

Ok Lastly Graphics 45. No this is not the last company I bought from this is just the last one I"ll talk about today. Graphics out did themselves this time with Domestic Goddess. Another vintage that is bright. Don't get stuck thinking you have to be a homemaker type to use these. They would be great for your grandmother tributes, projects of all sorts and be sure to check out the two layouts below.

Ok I will leave you with all the above to think about. There is so much more that was ordered and several thing to be ordered still. Be on the look out for all the awesome goodies.

Heather

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.

Do you have a quick recipe? email me hgturner@everythingscrappn.com
