March DT Challenge

Hi everyone :) its my turn to host the monthly contest here at Everything Scrappn....

I am so excited to see Spring ring forth. I can't wait for sunny days, flowers, and gentle spring rains. This month's challenge is all about the coming Spring. You can create a layout or an altered piece.

First, I want to see flowers, at least 3, but not plain or simple flowers. You can either create your own flowers (from fabric, paper, felt, etc. whatever you wish) or if you chose to use a Prima type flower, you need to alter it somehow to make it uniquely yours.

Second, I want to see the color blue on your project. Something blue that will remind us of Spring rains that nourish the soil.

Last, you will need something yellow or gold to represent the warm Spring sunshine on your project.

I can't wait to see what you create and hopefully Spring will join us all soon!"

Many of the Design Team Members will be showcasing Webster's Pages products in their sample creations for the March 28th contest. You can view the stock of Webster's Pages that Everything Scrappn' has to offer by clicking here. Participate in the challenge for a chance to win a Prima Artistry Flowers Mini Tin. This tin is filled with around 25 Prima flowers in different sizes.

Here's my example for you called "flower child" I made two rolled paper flowers and I altered two white prima flowers with stamps, stazon and glimmer mist.
For my 2nd project this month I created easter baskets out of the Basic Grey Nook & Pantry line. I also used a few of the "woolies" flowers from the line

Don't forget to "hop" around to all of the DT blogs

Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to link up your work here in the comments by midnight Sunday, April 11th for your chance to win the flowers :)

Michelle's February Challenge

Hey! Its hard to believe that February is coming to an end. It's time to challenge you again. My challenge to you is to use Pink Paislee's Cupid line in a non-Valentine way. I have the hardest time scrapbooking holidays and I think that's because I am so used to scrapbooking everyday life. I find it fun and challenging to take holiday themed papers and re-purpose it. So I would love for you to show me your skills and use the line in a non-holiday way! The prize is your choice of the Bucket of Boy or Bucket of Girl embellishments from Queen & Co.I have a bunch of fun photos from Europe that I've been needing to scrap for over a year. I thought it would be fun to make a mini album using the adorable Cupid line.

I'll have more pages of my mini on my blog soon. Stop by to check it out.

My second project was to use my left over products and create a second page to my two page layout. I made the first page about two weeks ago. I mirrored the same papers and created a page about how much we love polaroids. I haven't done a two page layout in a long time and had a lot of fun doing it!I hope to see your take on my challenge. Please link your take here in the comments. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team did for this challenge too. :D

November Challenge & Design Team Blog Hop

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Thursday is filled with family, friends & food then there is Friday... Who was crazy enough to do shopping in the early morning hours?  Here in Atlanta people were camped out for over 24 hours for some of the computer & tv deals.  Not me I was snuggled in bed fast asleep.

This time of year is so busy & I think really brings out the creativity in us. Our challenge this month will help you get creative with your gift packaging & make that little something even more special because you made it with love.

Jana's is challenging us to package a present in a creative way. Presentation is the key to a great gift.   You can alter a box, make a gift card, think outside the box.

Use whatever have on hand, fabric, scrapbook paper, Christmas wrapping paper, etc to make something ordinary extraordinary.  Maybe you need a quick gift for a friend, teacher or neighbor.  You could give some tea, candy, gift card etc....

Jana used this video tutorial to make her box if you'd like to make the same box - or browse the web to see what you can come up with.

The design team is showcasing the great Pink Paislee Mistletoe & Co. line.  Here's the link to buy in the ES store.

We can't wait to see your creations.  Post a link with a comment here before Midnight EST December 6th & winner will be drawn from those participating.  Heather always has a great prize up her sleeve so enter.

Blinged Out Sketch Challenge

Today is challenge time over at the Everything Scrapp'n Store Blog.  This month it's a sketch challenge.  We're using this Pagemaps sketch.

So here are the rules:

Take inspiration from the sketch it doesn't have to be an exact copy of the sketch.  You can take creative liberties any way you feel inclined... the only thing you have to have on the layout is BLING of some sort.  It can be gems, pearls, jewels, etc.  Let's see what you've got in your stash.  If you need to buy some we have perfect products to fit every need in the Everything Scrapp'n store.  Here's a link to that department so you can shop.

Make a comment with a link your creation on THIS POST by 11:59 EST on Sunday, November 8th, 2009.  Each layout you create & post link to will receive one entry so get busy & get creative.  We can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

To see what our design team has done with it visit:

Here's the prize - A super cute cardmaking kit - the colors are perfect for fall (that could easily be used for scrapbooking too).
Contents: Six 6x6 sheets of coordinating Sassafras Lass & Heidi Swapp patterned papers, Two Sassafras Lass 6' scalloped borders, Copper Stickles, and some yummy Prima flowers

Have you signed up to receive our monthly newsletter?  If not head on over here.  November is packed & you'll want to keep up to date.

Suz's Challenge - Bingo Layout

It's my day on the blog. Have you been keeping up with all the challenges so far. I'm loving looking at all the design team layouts using the new My Mind's Eye products.

My Mind's Eye has been a long time favorite of mine. They have such beautiful papers with lots of textures & depth to the patterns. They really out did themselves this season with the release of Penny Lane, Bella Bella & Bloom Grow.

So my challenge for you to earn another entry to win that fantastic prize is a twist on one of my favorite games BINGO...

Here's the BINGO card. So pick any line (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) & use those supplies/techniques in your creation.

Make sure you use new MME papers/embellishments for your layout & link your creation back to the comments section of this post before midnight eastern time April 30, 2009 for a chance to win that super My Mind's Eye prize valued at $90!

I have 2 sons - so sometimes I feel limited when using all the pretty new papers that hit the market. Usually I can pick a stripe & a polka dot out of any line (as long as it's not pink) & make it work. I love the dark browns in Penny Lane - it really makes the colors pop. The perfect background in my book is a piece of Bazzill kraft cardstock.

In my example I chose the top horizontal row of the BINGO card & used ( I used 6+buttons, 3 patterned papers, handwritten journaling, 3+ photos & stitching) My layout uses photos of my younger son Brandon marching in the Atlanta Braves Stadium before a game with his t-ball team. He was so honored to be allowed on the field where his heroes played. He loved sharing his big day with his grandpa & they both had fun watching the game.

Products Used:
My Mind's Eye Grow Accessory Sheet
My Mind'e Eye Grow Just Stripe Paper
My Mind's Eye My Friend Paper
My Mind's Eye Peace Large Accessories
My Mind's Eye Chasse' Notebook Doodles Paper
Bazzill Kraft Cardstock 12 x 12
Buttons - misc. from my stash
Thread - Coats & Clarks
Letters - American Crafts Thickers

I can't wait to see what you come up with - thanks for playing along with me!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.

Do you have a quick recipe? email me hgturner@everythingscrappn.com
