I'm Back - CHA Update (warning LONG)

I have made it back from the CHA. It had some great moment and it had some bad ones. I overloaded myself by taking my children this year and making sure that they did Disneyland right. This however did not affect what I will be bringing to the store. Below is a list of companies that I purchase from and a little info or hint as to what will be coming in. I do not know dates on all this as it is just to over whelming to try and remember. There is one more company that I want to order from and about three that I am still thinking on their product. Hope that you enjoy looking at all the new goodies.

Rusty Pickle is a company that I just love their stuff most of the times. They have come out with some stuff that I haven't seen (or at least it's been a while). I do not have pictures of their product but they have a new color combination with Yellow and Brown or Yellow & blue or both in a summer theme that has an island feel. They also have a new spin on an old favorite with a Rock Star Style line for both neutral (or manly) & very girly.

Graphics 45 was new to me last summer. They had a new and interesting style. I heard lots of comments on their papers and took a look at what they were offering this winter show. I very much liked what they brought and chose to purchase the communications line. I think it will be a great line for both layouts and projects (especially projects)

Pink Paisley is a name I love to here. There are such a fresh company. They are only a year old but I believe that they will be a house hold name if they continue as they have. Love them. Again with a boy and girl line from this company. This is not as young as the line below by Cosmo Cricket.

Doodle Bug had one paper line that I really liked and chose to bring to the store. Below is a layout using the paper line I chose.

Fancy Pants is yet another new company to the store. I can't wait to get their stuff in as they have a mixed media album, some pom pom ribbon and papers that are just MUST haves.

Cosmo Cricket is one of the first companies I ordered from as I was starting my business. I believe that they have improved their designs each year. This time they have brought vintage and now together. These lines do not look completely vintage for those who do not care for that but it allows embellishments for those who do. I will be bringing in a girl line, a boy line and a summer line from this company. The below layout shows off a little of the boy line.

(2 pics above 2 below) Daisy Buckets is a new company to me. This woman is talented in my opinion. She has some cool project stuff as well as some just awesome paper. I tried to bring you a line that could only be given with a certain $ order but I could not get my $ amount that high. Ok anyway on with the company. She has a cute monster paper that is great for boys and like I said some interesting chipboard for some great projects. Oh and did I mention the paper ribbon that you can curl like curly ribbon on presents? Yup I ordered some of that too.

You've asked and I've given. Jenni Bowlin is coming to the store. She had an interesting mix of vintage and farm (to me).

American Craft. They by far had my favorite products this show. They have some awesome lines coming out. One is called back yard and the other craft fair. Craft fair is my favorite as it applies to ALL crafters and their crafts. (Sorry no pics)

Queen & Co. is back in the store. They have discover that people preferred the smaller felt so their felt strips are now 12" long and 1" wide. I have re-ordered some of the favorites and brought in some new. The coolest thing Queen & Co. has done is gone bulk. I will be able to offer you the number of items you want. You choose. If you want 1 ribbon tie, 10 flowers and 6 big brads that is what you get. The below image gives you some examples of what I'm talking about.

Above in the layout to the right of the pictures you see what looks like a film strip. This is something new this year and I saw it with Creative Imaginations first. So I purchased both the brown and the black. I love putting pictures behind this type thing or embellishments. CI also came out with some "Lace Paper" style paper that I missed getting a picture of but they will be so much fun to use as one page is solid circles (fun). Below on the back of this project is a paper I purchased and there will be frame coming to the store that will hold a scrapbooking album on your wall. Look for a post to come on it.

Petaloo has out done themselves this time. They have some great bright papers, some pre sewn papers and of corse flowers to match. Somehow I have lost or mis-filed the sewn paper I took a picture of but below is a layout down with one of the new lines I purchased from them.

Ranger was a must. I've had such good luck with the stickles that I ordered a set of all of them. I requested some more of the distressed stickles. This will not get to me till March but then I will be able to provide all of the colors.
Something New to the store is a company called Tattered Angels. They have the glimmer mist. This is a cutting edge product stand alone and when you use the stencils they make or any other stencil you get another look. Also from them I'm bringing in their glimmer glass. This product could stand along but when misted you get a few more dimensions of color. If you heat this product with a heat gun you can bend the glass for a 3-D effect.

Below are some great flowers from petaloo. They run along the original prima line but still a very classic look with some great and vibrant colors. The first picture is a layout using some of the colors I purchased. The second is a great idea for your old
petaloo boxes. With the push for going "Green" and the theme of the show being "Green" petaloo had many idea's on how to reuses their packaging. (Love them and will probably do another post of just those ideas)

I had a call from someone looking for card stock right before I left for CHA. I was mulling this information over in my mind as I thought of what to order. My rep took me over to Core'dinations. This is a cool company whose card stock contains color on the inside. When you rip or cut you have a shade of the same color on the inside. Now they also have some super cool Black and Brown Cardstock that contain other colors on the inside which for embossers is a must. In fact I have not embossed in years because chalking took to much time and with out it you could not get a good image of what you had embossed.

I hope this example showed just what this product does. This sample paper was run through a cuttle bug, then I sanded the embossed part and tore the bottom. When this order comes in I will have some of all of their main colors and a little black magic and brown .

Looking in the below layout you will see some of Hambly's new rub-on's. They are absolutely adorable! Hambly was the only line in which I truly liked the baby merchandise. I ordered overlays, rub-on's and papers from them

WOW you've made it to the end. Please feel free to comment on product you like and don't like and product you would like to see. I love to hear your feed back! Making you happy is what I'm here for.

Love Ya'll
Heather

Love that cardstock, I don't emboss for those same reasons, but with that paper I just may. So when is everything coming in? Come by our crop at Northside on the 7th and tell us all about your trip and what you ordered. These ladies love to shop! Glad you are back and see you soon.

Scrapbooking Recipes

With the holidays coming so fast we need more hours in our day. One way I've found to help is quick and easy meals. Here is one that I love to use when I have a full day.

Lazy Log Cabin Casserole:

1lb stew meat cubed
1 can of Cream of Celery
1 can of Cram of Mushroom
1 packet of Beef Onion Soup (I don't use this. I just add salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried minced onions but I'm an eye ball cook)
Toss all this in the crock pot together give it a stir put it on low and cook it for 6 - 8 hours. Home cooked meal with just a few moments prep. Put a salad bag with it and your hubby can't be upset that there isn't a home cooked meal on the table.
